My Story
A Journey Through Adolescent Psychotherapy
An adolescent psychotherapist specializing in providing comprehensive support to individuals aged 12-30. My journey into psychotherapy began with a deep-seated passion for understanding the intricate layers of human development and supporting young people through the various transitions of life. With a foundation rooted in Gestalt therapy, I have honed my skills to create a therapeutic space that embraces the whole person, facilitating growth and healing through a holistic approach.

Parent support is a cornerstone of my practice. I believe that empowering parents with the right tools and knowledge is crucial in fostering a supportive environment for their children. Through open-ended sessions, I work collaboratively with parents, guiding them through the challenges they face and helping them to navigate the complexities of raising an adolescent.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my practice is working with adolescents and young adults as they navigate the challenges of identity and transitions. Whether it's moving to a new school, entering the workforce, or dealing with personal changes, I provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their experiences. I believe that "the antidote to anxiety is support," and I strive to offer a strong foundation of understanding and guidance to help clients manage their anxieties and thrive.

In my practice, I blend traditional talk therapy with creative interventions, including sand tray therapy, to engage clients in ways that transcend verbal communication. This approach is particularly effective in helping individuals process and express emotions that might be difficult to articulate.

My professional journey has taken me through various roles, including working in school settings, couple and adult counselling, which has enriched my understanding of the different stages of human development. Each experience has reinforced my commitment to supporting individuals through their most challenging times, using a developmentally informed perspective.

Transitions, whether they be moving from adolescence to adulthood, changing schools, or navigating personal identity shifts, are a significant focus of my work. I strive to be a steady presence for my clients, providing guidance and support as they navigate these pivotal moments.

In every session, my goal is to create a therapeutic alliance based on trust and empathy, fostering an environment where clients feel empowered to explore their inner worlds and make meaningful changes. Whether through talk therapy, creative interventions, or parent support, I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve a greater sense of well-being and fulfilment.

Over the years, I have worked with individuals on the autism spectrum (ASD), offering interventions that meet their unique needs. Understanding that every individual on the spectrum has a distinct way of experiencing the world, I utilize a range of strategies to connect and communicate effectively, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and understood. I look forward to the opportunity to support you or your loved ones on the path to healing and growth.
