Supporting Neurodivergent Children Over Christmas

Creating calmer, more connected festive experiences for every child.

What Is This Workshop About

Christmas can be a joyful time but for many neurodivergent children, it can also be overwhelming. Changes in routine, sensory overload, unfamiliar social settings, and heightened emotions can make the festive season challenging for both children and parents.

This workshop offers parents a safe, supportive space to explore how to make Christmas a calmer, more manageable experience for the whole family. Led by two of our child and adolescent therapists with expertise in neurodiversity, we will share practical tools, real-life strategies, and insights to help you plan, prepare, and support your child’s and adolescents needs during the festive period.

Why Parents will benefit from this Workshop

The Christmas season often comes with social expectations, sensory challenges, and emotional demands — all of which can lead to stress and dysregulation for neurodivergent children (and their parents).

By joining this workshop, you will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of how your child experiences the festive season

  • Learn practical techniques to reduce sensory overload and anxiety

  • Explore ways to maintain calm and structure during routine changes

  • Strengthen family connection and communication

  •  Feel more confident in creating an inclusive, enjoyable Christmas for everyone

This is not about doing Christmas perfectly; it is about doing it in a way that feels right for your child and family.

You will receive

Follow-up resource pack after the session reflecting on the themes covered and a festive planning guide
