The Supervisors

Gina Dermody
Clinical Director BSocSc, MSw, MSc, HDip Psychotherapy, HDip Clinical Supervsion, HDip Child & Adolescent Supervsion, EMDR European Practitioner MIACP
Gina brings a warm, grounded, and insightful presence to her work as a supervisor. With over 27 years experience in frontline social work and an extensive clinical background in psychotherapy, she offers a supervision space that is reflective, supportive, creative and gently challenging.
Gina is trained in two distinct areas of supervision:
-
Clinical Supervision with the Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre
-
Child, Adolescent, and Adult Supervision with the Terapia Centre in London
These trainings, combined with her breadth of professional experience, allow her to support supervisees across many therapeutic modalities and client groups from students to experienced therapists, and from allied health professionals to those specialising in child and adolescent work.
Supervision Style
Gina’s approach is relational and creative. She holds space for reflection with curiosity and compassion, offering a calm and non-judgemental environment where supervisees can think deeply about their practice, ethical dilemmas, personal responses, and professional development.
She believes supervision should be a collaborative process—one that honours the whole person and recognises the emotional, intellectual, and practical aspects of therapeutic work. Having a sense of safety, clarity, and insight is at the heart of her sessions.
Gina’s background includes:
-
Social work across hospital and community settings
-
Specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
-
Clinical expertise in Trauma, Bereavement, and Family Systems
-
Additional training in EMDR, Play Therapy, Bereavement, Family Therapy and meditation.
This rich foundation enables her to offer meaningful supervision to those working in complex areas, including high-risk cases, trauma, family dynamics, and multidisciplinary settings
Maura O Sullivan
B.Soc.Sc, B.Sc, Dip Supervision
Maura received her B.Sc. in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Middlesex in 2010. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Studies (Social Work) from Trinity College Dublin, and completed a Diploma in Supervision with the Super-Vision Training Institute in Limerick. Her academic background reflects a deep commitment to both therapeutic practice and the broader social contexts that shape people’s lives.
With over two decades of clinical experience, Maura has developed a robust and nuanced understanding of trauma, resilience, and human relationships. Much of her early career was dedicated to working with young people and families affected by sexual abuse, where she served as a therapeutic clinician, supervisor, and service manager. This work grounded her in trauma-informed, relational approaches that honour each individual’s pace, capacity, and lived experience.
Alongside her specialist trauma work, Maura has significant experience within public mental health services, supporting clients presenting with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and neurodivergent profiles. Her practice is enriched by a strong appreciation for complexity, diversity, and the importance of collaborative, strengths-based intervention.
Maura currently divides her time between private practice and her role within the hospice sector. In this area, she offers compassionate psychological support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illness, grief, and loss. Her work in palliative care is grounded in presence, sensitivity, and a deep respect for the emotional, relational, and existential challenges people navigate at this stage of life.
She is accredited by the IACP as both a psychotherapist and supervisor, and she is a CORU registered Social Worker. Maura’s professional approach is informed by integrity, empathy, and a belief in the capacity for growth and healing across the lifespan.
