How do the differences between us shape the supervisory relationship, and are we paying enough attention?

This reflective workshop invites supervisors to slow down and examine how identity, culture, power, and lived experience influence the work of supervision. Whether the differences are visible or invisible, race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, class, faith, sexuality, or professional background, they are always present in the room. This workshop creates the space to notice them.

Through facilitated dialogue, case reflection, and experiential exercises, participants will:

  • Develop awareness of how their own social identities and assumptions show up in supervisory relationships

  • Explore power dynamics and how difference can create blind spots, ruptures, or missed connections

  • Build skills for initiating honest, respectful conversations about difference with supervisees

  • Strengthen the supervisory alliance across cultural and experiential divides

  • Reflect on systemic factors that shape who feels seen, heard, and supported in supervision

Who is it for?

Supervisors working in psychotherapy, the healied and allied halth field who want their practice to be more culturally responsive, relationally attuned, and genuinely equitable.

Format: Full Day online workshop
